About

theadipost.com

theadipost is one person, Aditya Sreedhar, making apps for the things people keep for themselves: their books, their music, their films. Every one of them talks only to what you already own.

The apps

Athene, a reader for the books you already own, is on the App Store, free. Mynah, a record player for the music on your own server, is in development. Both have versions for iOS 6, for the iPad and iPod touch that still work, on Adi’s Repo.

In the workshop: Nightjar, for your Jellyfin library on Apple TV, and We Fund Artists, crowdfunding that’s fair to artists and the people who back them.

No accounts

None of the apps asks you to sign up, and none of them collects anything. They talk to the server you run, or to nothing at all, and the privacy policies say so in full: Athene, Mynah.

This site

The look is apple.com as it stood in 2001, reconstructed on purpose: the Aqua bar, the Hot News bar, Apple Garamond for the headlines (in EB Garamond, the nearest open cut) and Lucida Grande for the rest. Every screenshot is the real app, standing in a drawn device. It is plain HTML with one stylesheet, no cookies and no analytics, and nothing on it loads from anyone else’s servers.
