Mynah for iPhone and iPad

Mynah needs one thing you provide: a Navidrome or Subsonic server. If you have one, setup is the address, your username and your password, and the library appears.

Getting set up

• Open Mynah, go to Settings, and enter your server’s address, for example http://192.168.1.20:4533 or https://music.example.com. Plain http on your own network is fine.
• Enter your username and password. Mynah checks the server before saving, so a typo cannot lock you out.
• Albums appear under Recently Added. Tap one, then tap a song, and the record is on the deck.

Playing a record

Play or pause	The play button, or a tap on the record’s label.
Move through a song	Drag the tonearm, or tap the record where you want the needle. Hold next or previous to scan.
Next side	Long albums are cut into sides. When a side ends the next one drops on by itself.
Favorite a song	The star on the plate. Favorites are the first row in Playlists.
AirPlay, speed, vinyl style	The … button on the plate.
Close the deck (iPhone)	Swipe down anywhere that is not the record, or the chevron.
Library (iPad)	The handle at the top left, or swipe in from the left edge.

Common questions

Can it reach my server from outside my house?

Yes, if your server can be reached from outside: a Tailscale address, a VPN, or a domain you expose with TLS. Mynah does not provide the tunnel.

Does it transcode?

Only what the phone cannot play itself. FLAC, ALAC, AAC, MP3, WAV and AIFF stream as they are. Opus, Vorbis, WMA and APE are transcoded by your server.

Where are downloads kept?

In the app’s own storage on the device, excluded from iCloud backup. Remove them from Settings.

Does Mynah work with Apple Music or Spotify?

No. Mynah is for music you host yourself.

Something is wrong

Write to mynah@theadipost.com with your iOS version, your server’s version, and what you expected to happen. Mynah keeps no logs anywhere but on your device, so a description is what helps.
