Settings & Extras
Settings is the third tab. How a book’s page looks isn’t here: that’s in Aa, while you read, where you can judge it against the book.
Every setting
| Setting | What it does |

| Appearance › Light | Automatic, Morning, Sunset or Night: the light Athene is drawn in. See Athene’s own light. |
| Reading › Show Reading Progress | A fine line across the foot of each page. Off at first. |
| Reading › Show What You’re Reading | The book you’re reading, named under the Library’s title. On at first. |
| Extras | Tap Zones, Mystery Book and more. Below. |
| Sync › iCloud | Your reading on all your devices. See iCloud. |
| Sync › Calibre | Highlights and progress to your calibre library. It opens once a calibre server is connected. See Sending to calibre. |
| Sync › KOReader | Your books, on your e-reader too. See KOReader. |
| Sync › Zotero | Your Zotero account, its files on WebDAV, and its sync. See Zotero. |
| Ask the Owl › Answers from | Where the Owl’s answers come from: your device, an Ollama server or an API key. See Ask the Owl. |
| Ask the Owl › Questions may leave this device | Shown when a server or key is chosen: when you agreed, and where to. Turn it off to take that back. |
| Support › Rate Athene | Write a review on the App Store. |
| Support › Contact | An email to athene@theadipost.com, with your version of Athene in the subject. |
| About › Version | Your version of Athene; tap it for the story of the app so far, a chapter a version. |
| About › Acknowledgements | The work Athene is built on, with its licences. |
| About › Privacy Policy | The privacy policy. |

Extras
Settings › Extras holds what some readers love and most never need. Each is off until you turn it on, stays on this device, and never takes away what you made with it when you turn it off again.
- Tap Zones
- Choose where a tap turns the page: Sides, or Top & Bottom for reading lying down. See Turning pages.
- Mystery Book
- A die on your Library that picks your next book from the shelf you’re looking at, leaving out finished books and the one you’re reading, and never the same book twice until every one has had its turn. Tap Read to open it, or Another.
- Blank Pages
- A Write or draw anything card in the Notebook, for a reflection about no book.
- More Drawing Tools
- A fountain pen, a pencil and a brush in the drawing tray, and pink and purple inks.
- Monthly Specials
- In the months that have one, a shelf of free classics on a theme at the top of Add Books: in October, Spooky Season. Touch and hold it to hide it until next month.

- Shown on iPhone Duo only. See Closed.
